- You're always daddy's little girl, no matter how old you get. When I was little I used to lay on the couch with my dad and watch tv, now we just sit in the living room together, but we still watch tv together. I used to always go shopping with him too, and once in a while we still do that together as well.
- Nicknames never fail. My dad has been calling me bugster ever since I can remember. Bug, bugster: he calls me both still, and it makes me happy.
- Even if people don't seem to care, they do. My dad has never been much with words, but he still gets me flowers on valentine's day and my birthday, his own present that he buys for me for christmas (usually my mom does the shopping), and I've heard him every once in a while brag to his friends about my photography and art and how good I am.
- Men never grow up. My dad is still goofy and jokes around like I did when I was younger. It's funny, but it's also a good thing that men never grow up completely. I'm glad my dad still has his humor, and I hope my boyfriend never grows up in that way too.
- It's hard to let go of things, even if they are falling apart or have no use. My dad still has the same truck he had back in 1992. It's this old chevy that's leaking oil, shoots smoke out the back, and is basically falling apart. He loves that truck so much, he won't get rid of it until it completely breaks and no longer works. I'm the same way. When I go through old stuff, I hold onto things that are pointless or falling apart, but the memories attached to it make it worth something.
